HYBRID CAPITAL ARRANGES $620 MILLION IN FINANCING TRANSACTIONS IN 2013
Commercial Mortgage and Advisory Firm Continues Active Pace Heading Into 2014
January 15, 2014 – New York – Hybrid Capital, a New York-based full-service commercial mortgage and advisory firm, announced it has arranged $620,000,000 in financing transactions on behalf of its clients in 2013. The announcement was made by Bobby Bakhchi, CEO of Hybrid Capital.
The transactions included 24 multifamily, seven retail, seven office and one warehouse/industrial property, the majority of which are in the New York metropolitan area.
According to Mr. Bakhchi, “We saw sustained interest from lenders in 2013, particularly for well-located assets with strong financials, and we expect the demand from lenders to continue as long as capital remains abundant and real estate fundamentals remain strong, which we expect they will. Even though interest rates are ticking upward, rates are still at a historic low, and while the demand for recapitalizations may stabilize, there is still ample opportunity in acquisitions and construction/development projects. Multifamily will continue to attract capital, as well as affordable housing, and as the economy improves, we should see more activity in hospitality, as evidenced by the new short stay hotels springing up in the Herald Square area. Additionally, due to recent regulations we’ll see a more diverse range of lender types taking a more prominent position in the market in addition to the traditional entities such as commercial banks.”
Over the past three years, Hybrid Capital has arranged financing for properties valued in excess of $1.5 billion.
